Voltage at the European Forum on CoVEs 2025
On Tuesday, 9 September 2025, Voltage actively contributed to the European Forum on Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) in Kolding, Denmark, by hosting a dedicated seminar and workshop on the theme “How to Establish CoVEs in Emerging Industries.”
The session was led by representatives from the Voltage consortium: Patrik Laanemets and Rasmus Jonsson from the Gothenburg Region (GR), Lena Müller from e-mobil BW GmbH, and Katarina Sandbacka from Vamia. In addition to representing Voltage, Katarina Sandbacka also presented the H2 Excellence CoVE project, focusing on the development of skills and training structures within the hydrogen sector.
The seminar addressed one of the most pressing challenges in vocational education and training today: how to develop CoVEs in industries that are still in the early stages of development. As part of the interactive workshop, participants engaged in small-group discussions around four questions:
How can we engage companies in an industry that is still emerging and evolving?
How can we ensure that training programs remain adaptable as the industry develops?
What strategies can we use to raise students’ awareness and interest in these new fields?
How can we highlight career opportunities in industries that are not yet fully established?
Voltage’s presence at the Forum exemplifies the project’s commitment to building transnational collaboration, fostering innovation, and ensuring future-oriented vocational education. The session underlined the importance of flexible training structures, dynamic industry engagement, and strategic communication to support new skills ecosystems across Europe.
