The Voltage partners in Finland are Vamia (VET provider) and Oy Merinova Technology Centre (industry representative). Each partner brings unique expertise, competences, and experience that collectively contribute to the project’s objectives and outcomes.

Innovation with energy – the leading actor in the EnergyVaasa cluster
Merinova is an important and neutral background actor, whose mission is to make the energy cluster in the Vaasa region even more successful.
Merinova are at the centre of the energy cluster in the Vaasa region. It’s cutting-edge expertise is in energy technology, and Merinova are experts in developing businesses and their operating conditions. They are involved in various projects, programs and services both regionally, nationally and globally.
Merinova gathers together companies, universities, and organisations in its projects. From these cooperations, often something completely new and revolutionary is born – new businesses within the energy sector, and technological innovations on a global level.

Vamia
Multidisciplinary VET provider in Vaasa – collaborates with the energy sector
Vamia, owned by the City of Vaasa, is a multidisciplinary VET provider with approximately 5000 students. Offering programs at EQF levels 4 and 5, we cater to youth, adults, and professionals in Finnish, Swedish, and English.
Situated in Northern Europe’s largest energy cluster, Vamia collaborates with energy sector companies, many focusing on energy storage technology. There are several battery plant projects planned for the GigaVaasa area but investments are still pending.
Since 2019, Vamia has co-led WP6 in the Erasmus+ Blueprint project Albatts project mapping sectoral intelligence and job roles in the battery value chain, developing curricula and courses, influencing national education standards.
Moreover, Vamia coordinates CaBatt, a spin-off arranging teachers’ forum for teachers in the battery industry and are partners in Erasmus+ CoVE projects like Greenovet (2020-2024) and H2Excellence (2023-2027).
