The Voltage partners in Sweden are Göteborgs Tekniska College, Lindholmens Tekniska Gymnasium, Nösnäsgymnasiet and The Gothenburg Region, (VET providers) and Business Region Göteborg and EIT Manufacturing North (industry representatives). Each partner brings unique expertise, competences, and experience that collectively contribute to the project’s objectives and outcomes.
The Gothenburg Region (GR)
Promoting co-operation over municipal borders and exchanging ideas within the region
The Gothenburg Region (GR) is a co-operative organisation uniting thirteen municipalities in western Sweden. The task of the association is to promote co-operation over municipal borders and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experience within the region.
GR focuses on such issues as: regional planning, environment, traffic, job market, welfare and social services, competence development, education, and research.
GR contributes towards long-term sustainable development in the member municipalities. Such development covers three basic and mutually dependent dimensions – the social, the ecological and the financial. It can also be described as civic power, carrying capacity and competitiveness.
Göteborgs Tekniska College
Unique collaboration between business and the municipality
Gothenburg Technical College is the result of a unique collaboration between business and the municipality. The company is jointly owned by Volvo Group and Volvo Cars together with the City of Gothenburg. Together with our owners, we supply learning for young students as well as for adults in order to meet the future skills requirement of the manufacturing industry in western Sweden. Our profit, if any, is reinvested into the company.
We provide effective and tailor-made courses you and your company, both basic and in-depth courses in several areas with an emphasis on industrial technology. Many of our courses are offered in English.
Unique to our programmes are that they are carefully designed in close cooperation with employers and the industry, to lead to a professional role that is in demand in the labour market.
Business Region Göteborg (BRG)
Part of the City of Gothenburg in collaboration with the region
Business Region Gothenburg is responsible for business development in the City of Gothenburg and represents 13 municipalities in the region. BRG are owned by the City of Gothenburg via the group company Göteborgs Stadshus AB.
Business Region Göteborgs main objective is to contribute to creating more jobs and thereby achieve sustainable growth in the business life of the Gothenburg region. BRG does this by offering knowledge and contacts that create favorable conditions for you who wants to start, establish or develop businesses in the region. Business Region Göteborg is your partner in business.
EIT Manufacturing North
Improve people’s lives through sustainable manufacturing
The manufacturing industry is a global base for prosperity and key to Europe’s economic, social and environmental sustainability. The sector is a main driver of industrial innovation, job creation and growth.
EIT Manufacturing is a public-private partnership, co-funded by the European Union and established in 2019. EIT Manufacturing is one of the nine Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC) supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
EIT Manufacturing brings together a growing network of top-tier industrial partners, leading academic and research institutions from across the region and innovative startups, scaleups and SMEs.
A key way of transforming knowledge into value is by overcoming the fragmented nature of many innovation networks. In order to ensure that innovations reach the market, industry has the right talent and entrepreneurs can thrive; EIT Manufacturing connects and integrates the areas of education, innovation and business creation.
Lindholmens Tekniska Gymnasium
Technical high school – specialized in training in technical subjects
At Lindholmen’s technical high school, we are specialists in training in technical subjects. Here are the methods, machines and people you need. The school also has Gothenburg’s widest range of technical education – both practical, theoretical, specialized and broad. With us, you get a good foundation for further studies or going directly into the labor market.
Lindholmens Tekniska Gymnasium is newly built (2020) and has a good environment with modern workplaces and machines. The teachers are competent and committed and have a varied and realistic way of working. They have a well-developed network of companies and good contacts with Chalmers and Gothenburg universities for further studies.
Nösnäsgymnasiet
Open to real learning
Nösnäsgymnasiet is a municipal high school with around 1 400 students and 160 employees. There is a large range of education, many opportunities, competence and commitment at the school.
Even though the school is relatively large, it strives to create good relationships between adults and young people and to give each student the opportunity for individual development. Nösnäsgymnasiet aims to be an inclusive and safe school with a good climate, where the student is seen and receives the support and motivation the student need to succeed in their education.
Nösnäsgymnasiet works with projects where the students get to leave the school desk and explore the outside world, sometimes together with companies or organizations. The school uses internships, international exchange, travel and role-playing to give the students as many inputs to the knowledge as possible – all in a safe environment where there is plenty of support and help if and when the student need it.
