Battery Centre Gothenburg

A Cutting-Edge Hub for Training in Electromobility and the Green Transition

The Battery Centre Gothenburg, one of Europe’s most modern training facility for industrial technology, electromobility, and sustainability, has officially opened. This state-of-the-art center is designed to meet the growing need for specialized skills within the battery and electrification industries, playing a critical role in the ongoing green transition.

The Battery Centre is equipped with the latest technology to deliver advanced training programs, hands-on workshops, and innovative courses tailored to meet industry demands. The facility will cater to a diverse audience, including current employees, students, and adults seeking to transition into careers in the green technology and battery sectors.

As part of the Voltage project, the Battery Centre will host many of the project’s educational activities, courses, and events. Voltage brings together partners across Europe to address skills gaps, foster collaboration, and drive innovation in vocational education and training (VET). The Battery Centre serves as a cornerstone for this effort, providing a world-class environment for learning and development.

We will carry out a wide range of activities at the new Battery Centre within the Voltage project, including teacher training programs where vocational educators are trained in the latest advancements within this fantastic learning environment. Over time, they will have the opportunity to pass on this valuable knowledge to their students, who will become the future workforce with the right skills for the automotive industry,” says Helene Stensson, project manager.

By combining cutting-edge infrastructure with expertise from international and regional partners, the Battery Centre Gothenburg is set to become a key driver in preparing a highly skilled workforce for Europe’s transition to electrified and sustainable industries. This initiative not only supports local and regional industry needs but also strengthens international collaboration and knowledge-sharing, making Gothenburg a leading hub for the future of sustainable technology.
