Teachers share knowledge with 48 colleagues in Gothenburg

Teachers involved in the Voltage project are putting knowledge sharing into practice. At the start of the new semester, teachers from Göteborgs Tekniska College delivered training at Battery Centre for 48 colleagues from Lindholmens Tekniska gymnasium in Gothenburg.

The training brought together teachers from three vocational programmes at Lindholmens Tekniska Gymnasium: Industrial Technology, Maritime, and Electricity and Energy.

The participants explored several technologies and working methods that are increasingly relevant to modern industry. They learned about automation and AI, experienced the role of a process operator in the SITE training environment, and practised safety procedures using VR technology.

An important aspect of the activity was that the training was delivered by teachers from Göteborgs Tekniska College who are themselves involved in the Voltage project. In this way, knowledge and experience developed through the project can reach a wider group of VET teachers and contribute to professional development beyond the immediate project participants.

Strengthening teachers’ capacity

Capacity building among VET providers and teachers is a key focus of Voltage. The project aims to strengthen the ability of education providers to deliver training that responds to evolving industry needs and to support knowledge exchange and collaboration between educators.

The training at Battery Centre provides a practical example of this approach: teachers sharing expertise with other teachers and creating opportunities for knowledge to move between schools and vocational programmes.

With 48 teachers taking part, the activity also provided an opportunity to start the new semester with practical learning, new perspectives and discussions about how emerging technologies can be incorporated into vocational education.
