Voltage highlights battery skills in Vaasa
Voltage highlights skills development in the battery industry at Energy Week in Vaasa
Last week, Voltage participated in Energy Week in Vaasa – an international forum for sustainable energy – where project leader Helene Stensson gave a presentation on the challenges and opportunities related to skills development in the growing battery industry.
Together with Katarina Sandbacka, who took part in both the seminar and panel discussion, the session highlighted how previous projects such as Cabatt and Albatts have laid the groundwork for the work now being further developed and implemented regionally within Voltage. These efforts have been instrumental in building knowledge and structures for skills development, and we are now seeing the results being put into practice.
The session was expertly moderated by Kari Valkama from Merinova and formed part of Voltage’s knowledge-sharing efforts – a key deliverable within the project. With over 100 engaged participants from several countries, the discussion clearly demonstrated the importance of strong collaboration between industry, education, and research to ensure the skills needed for the green transition.
A big thank you to Energy Week for hosting us, and to all our partners – including Vamia and Merinova – for their valuable contributions. The transformation of the automotive and battery industries in Europe is well underway, and we are proud to be part of shaping the workforce of the future.
