Voltage partners meet in Portugal

Voltage partners from across Europe recently gathered in Portugal for a two-day transnational partnership meeting hosted by ATEC and MOBINOV. The meeting provided an important opportunity to review progress, exchange experiences and perspectives from the partner countries, and jointly discuss the next steps in the project.

The first day in Porto focused on the ongoing work across Voltage and on strengthening collaboration between the partners. Bringing the partnership together in person created space for discussions, knowledge exchange and joint reflection on how the different activities within the project can contribute to the development of vocational education and training for the evolving battery and electrification sectors.

The programme also connected the project discussions with education, technology and industry in practice. During visits to ATEC and the Siemens Building Automation Lab, partners gained insights into educational and technological environments in Portugal and explored their relevance to the skills needs addressed by Voltage.

On the second day, the meeting continued in Braga with study visits to CeNTI and b.again. The visits offered perspectives on different parts of the battery value chain, from research, advanced materials and battery development to recycling, circularity and the recovery of critical raw materials. Together, they highlighted the close relationship between technological development, sustainability and the skills required for the green and digital transition.

The partners also took part in workshops focusing on EuroSkills and Battery Camps. Through joint discussions and exchange of experiences, the partnership explored how these activities can support skills development, learning and collaboration within Voltage.

Transnational meetings are an important part of the Voltage project. They provide a platform for partners from different countries, sectors and perspectives to learn from each other, make joint progress and strengthen the European collaboration at the heart of the project.

A warm thank you to ATEC and MOBINOV for hosting the partnership and for creating a highly relevant and engaging programme in Porto
